How do I invite someone to my homestead?
Share your homestead name with the person you want to invite. They open SyncBasket, tap Join Homestead, and enter the exact name. You'll get a notification to approve or decline their request.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
Go to iPhone Settings → SyncBasket → Notifications and make sure notifications are enabled. Also check inside the app under Settings → Notifications to confirm list updates and join request alerts are turned on.
Why aren't changes syncing to other devices?
Changes sync over the internet in real time. Check that both devices have an active internet connection. If items still don't appear, try closing and reopening the app — it will re-establish the connection automatically.
How does barcode scanning work?
Tap + then the barcode icon in the Add Item screen. Point the camera at a product barcode — the app will look up the product name and pre-fill the item name for you.
What are Repeatable Items?
Repeatable Items are things you buy regularly (e.g., milk every 7 days). Open Repeatable Items, add an item and set an interval — SyncBasket will automatically add it back to your grocery list when the interval expires.
How do I transfer homestead ownership?
Go to Settings → Members, tap the member you want to promote, and select Transfer Ownership. They'll receive a notification and must accept within 48 hours.
What happens if I leave a homestead?
Your membership is removed. If you are the owner and leave without transferring ownership first, ownership is automatically passed to another member.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes. SyncBasket uses Firestore offline persistence — you can view and add items without internet. Changes sync automatically when connectivity is restored.
How do Archived Lists work?
When you clear completed items, the list is archived locally on your device. Tap the archive icon in the top-right of the grocery list to view past shopping trips. Archives are stored on-device only and are not synced.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Email us at the address below and we'll remove your user record, homestead membership, and all data linked to your device from our servers within 30 days.

We built SyncBasket to be simple and private. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.

We collect only what is needed to provide the service:

Camera images are processed entirely on-device; no photos or video are uploaded to our servers.
SyncBasket uses the following Google Firebase services to operate:

Firebase is operated by Google LLC. Data is processed according to Google's Firebase Privacy Policy. No other third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, or advertising frameworks are included in the app.
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with security rules that enforce:
SyncBasket is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us at support@syncbasket.app and we will delete it promptly.

SyncBasket does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), third-party analytics SDKs, or any cross-site tracking technology. The NSPrivacyTracking flag in our privacy manifest is set to false.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes we will notify you via an in-app message.
